The Federal Republic of Somalia condemned the killing of the Israeli entity on Wednesday of the head of the political office of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine (Hamas) Ismail Haniya, may God have mercy on him in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
Somalia fears an escalating pace of violence that could lead to more violations against civilians. Isolation would lead to widespread armed conflict in the Middle East.
If Somalis condemn the political killings and violence in all its forms, whatever its motives are.
We emphasize the need for the international community to bear its responsibilities and to take immediate action to impose a stop to the Israeli aggression on Gaza and its violations of international law and UN resolutions.
Somalia expresses its sincere condolences to the sister state of Palestine and its people and to the family of Dr. Haniya and his companion, may God have mercy on them.
